reviewing the sicuatary of state for health in the uk

As a former student of health & social welfare & social policy in the UK, I feel qualified to voice an opinion & review the situation of a former PR & IT man with no relevant academic qualification in health or social welfare or indeed practical hands on experience in the sector, landing a position of such fundamental importance to welfare of the UK in respect of both ppl care and care of the economy, because as those qualified in sociological camp will tell you, a healthy nation is the cornerstone of a wealthy nation, and in health and social welfare terms this covers all areas of well being including physical, emotional , physiological financial & social.

It puzzles me therefore that the UK prime minister would find it fitting to put the nations fate in welfare issues in the hands of a man with neither expertise or experience in any of these fields, & who also has a poor record of achievement in terms of moral and ethical integrity given that ethics play a fundamental role in health & social care as does trust.

When Mr Hunt was subject of investigation during the expenses scandal  he was found to be in breach of the rules in not reducing his claims on the Additional Costs Allowance in that period to take full account of his agent's living costs. As a result, public funds provided a benefit to the constituency agent... the commissioner  is quoted as stating " I accept that Mr Hunt received no real financial benefit from the arrangement and that the error was caused by his misinterpretation of the rules"

If Hunt is not sufficiently competent enough to correctly interpret the basic rules regarding his expenses, paid for from tax payers contributions to the state, it is hardly conceivable that tax payers  can confidently trust him to interpret correctly such a complex area as health and social welfare, where many social & health issues are throwt with complicated & contrasting issues seldom with straight forward rules.

Hunt was also subject of controversy in regard of comments he made related to
football hooliganism playing a part in the death of 96 football fans in the Hillsborough disaster;, and aside from the issues that have been unveiled regarding the cover up of vital information from police in regard to this, his comment reflect a lack of empathy & understanding of the effects and trauma that such generalizations and loose lipped  labeling can do to the emotional and mental health of those affected by such a traumatic disasters as Hillsborough, irrespective of affects of unfounded and unproven accusations of hooliganism. Frankly, that he apologized after the event for any offense caused is irrelevant, as the harm was done and offense noted, had he had some knowledge of social health & welfare issues, or even  an iota of common decency  or care, he would have known the damage and trauma comments like those he made could cause, and decency and care are paramount components within the health and social welfare sector, even at the lowest levels of entry in this field.

It is also inconceivably that a man who's integrity can be described at very least as dubious, having been involved in various scandals from tax avoidance to involvement and improper behaviors regarding the  BSkyB controversy, and who has a record of questionable behaviors and practices and lack of academic knowledge &; experience is intrusted with responsibility for the state of the nations health and social welfare?

Perhaps the secretory of state for health & social welfare, which go hand in hand , should have given some forethought and consideration to his own position and suitability for post, before he announced proposals  to pilot a scheme whereby those who wish to study NHS funded nursing degrees should first spend time working as a healthcare assistant to assess their values and behaviors  and to help them ensure they are making the right career choice.

Because frankly, in my opinion, as someone who has volunteered , worked and studied health and social welfare, and social policy, at degree level i feel competent and  knowledgeable enough in regard of the sector to suggest , that Jeremy Hunt is not fit or qualified to competently  hold .responsibility for his present position in government office .
