my scars are invisibly lustrous...
drawing the eye to unseen etchings...
electrifying surreal thoughts...
in graphic detail...
emblems earned in tear
in mindful ...youthful... bygone years...
when thoughts and dreams were promises...
whispered to the sky...
future possibilities
where's...and when's... and why's
& why can't I's? ... ...
that died.
My heart still hears the sad refrain
of innocent tears
lost......devoid of pain...
my scars are my humanity
and i wear them with pride.
